This project will use data-driven approaches to investigate the diverse landscape of of bias in the Australian University setting. We will investigate the different types of bias, its impact and where appropriate, the effectiveness of remedial steps. The project has potential to impact directly on policy making in the higher education sector.
The candidate should have a strong background in a data science discipline, such as statistics, mathematics or econometrics. Some background in psychology is highly desirable. The ideal candidate should be someone who is also passionate about making a difference, and contributing towards making our society more equitable.
