Examining Sustainability in Sport for Social Change through Social Business

Back to search results

Sport for social change (S4SC) is an increasingly effective means to address equity through the SDG's. Traditionally S4SC programs have depended on philanthropy and grants to develop, thrive, survive. This PhD project will explore mechanisms used to ensure sustainability of S4SC programs across the world. It will examine the antecedents, facilitating factors, and constraints to developing a social enterprise model to safeguard program survival and assess its impact on this rapidly expanding field. The study will engage with numerous established international actors and networks. A global first, the study will contribute significant new learning to addressing inequity globally and locally.
